On August 23, 2006 Local 926 took big steps towards sealing the deal on the ATLANTIC YARDS PROJECT (4.6 BILLION DOLLARS!) FOR BROOKLYN.

Over 250 members showed up for the hearing to get the project started. Most District Council Members along with Business Agents Joe DiNapoli, Dan Dunbar, Organizer Anthony Puglise, Political Adviser Steve McInniss; Apprentice School Director Martin Daly; Business Manager Sal Zarzana; Executive Board Members; Delegates of Local 926 - all of whom arrived at 1:00 p.m. and stayed to 11:00 p.m. These people stayed all that time because of the importance of this project and what it means to our Pension and Welfare Funds and the many hours of work on this job site. THIS WAS AN IMPORTANT DAY FOR OUR LOCAL!!!
